FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What will the photo shoot be like?

When you come to the studio, you will be made up and styled by Fuchsia Foxxx, who is a glamorous genius with hair and makeup. This can take up to an hour! It's best to wear a button down shirt or something that slips off easily over big hair for this portion of the day. While you're being primped, curled, and glittered, we will sort through costumes and props, and put together options and ideas for you to choose from. Once you're dressed and accessorized, the camera comes out, and we'll coach you while you strike your poses. Have no fear, we have worked with the shyest to the most exibitionist girls, and by the end of the shoot, no one wants to leave the spotlight! However, we highly recommend you do your "homework"- see below under "What you should do to prepare"- which will help you to feel more comfortable in front of the camera, and help us to get great shots. You can be confident that only the best shots will be selected, and those are fastidiously airbrushed and edited for the best color and radiance possible- you will look nothing less than perfect!

What kinds of costumes do you have? Are they in my size?

Our wardrobe includes all the usual pin-up trappings- corsets, push-up bras, frilly panties, vintage slips, high heels... sweet and sexy as well as some animal print and vinyl for the more daring! We collect fun and sassy costumes- cheerleader, beach babe, sexy sailor, hula girl... We love working with women of all sizes, races, and sexual orientations, and are committed to celebrating each woman as she is, even as we create a vision of who she would like to be.

What style photos can we take?

We love traditional pin-up, but we also love to go outside the box! From retro to modern, we are available to make photos that reflect your personal vision- and add our own creative boost to your ideas! We can edit the images according to your personal preference- want them to look like they're from a specific time period? Have a thing for black and white and sepia, maybe some old-fashioned film grain? Mad for manically bright colors or a specific color cast? We can do it- just ask!

Is there anything I should do to prepare?

Before your shoot, make sure that you've done all the grooming that is important to you- shave, pluck, paint your nails- whatever is part of your beauty routine. When you arrive at the studio, we prefer your hair not be freshly washed, just a little bit dirty, but not oily- this makes it easier to style. Please come with no makeup on or just base makeup/ foundation.

We also have some homework for you! Practice making faces in the mirror. It sounds silly, but it will give you more confidence, and the more varied the expressions you can make, the better the photos. To get you started, see the list below for some standard pin-up expressions:

Cheesecake Smile Big and exaggerated!

Whoops Where'd My Clothes Go?! Eyebrows raised, mouth a big "O."

Smoldering Sexpot Eyes slightly squinted, with a sexy little half smile.

Girl Next Door Sweet and innocent, wide-eyed and a little surprised.

Shy and Demure Tilt your face down a little, pretend to be slightly scared.

Secret Heart Faint smile on your lips, really try to "smile with your eyes."

What should I bring with me?

Anything you have that you'd like to be photographed in! Sexy lingerie, cute dresses, shoes, etc. We can mix and match with our studio wardrobe, and we'll help you decide what will work best for the photos. If you have any of the following: props to pose with, base/foundation makeup that matches your skintone, an ipod/ mp3 player loaded with music to listen to during the shoot.

A word on intimate apparel- Please bring/wear a thong, along with any fancy panties or stockings you might want to be photographed in. We have freshly laundered frilly panties (to be worn over your thong) and fishnets available.

Where is the studio located?

We are located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Seattle, in the POUND Studios. The address is 1216 10th Ave., 98112. It's on the corner of 10th and Union, a block south of Neumos, near Seattle U. When you arrive, buzz Shena Lee, #120.
